J-Express 2011 is now ready for download. It contains new methods, new file parsers, updated database connection and a new GUI.
J-Express 2009 licenses will still work on this version.

Comments are highly appreciated.

Nice and intuitive rearrangement :-)

One comment:
I see there is some problem with fitting all text into some of the panels:
 - for Merge rows I have to rescale the window to see all the text, even though the window is more than large enough to show it all.
 - The analysis tab looks a bit over-crowded with all the text. Unless I make the window really big the text items get cut.

Hi Anne Kristin,

Nice to hear from you.
The new panels should certainly be able to contain all the elements on a standard resolution desktop.. I'll look innto that.
Do you know what your resolution was when you saw this?

I aggree that there may be too many methods for a single methods tab.. Then again, dividing them up leads to unnecessary buttton clicks.. The search continues for a better arrangement..

Hi Bjarte,

I am was using my 24 inch monitor and it says my resolution is 3360 x 1200.

Actually the Analysis tab and the settings tab don't fit all the text in even when I resize. I don't know if this is only a problem in linux? It looks ok when there are two rows of buttons, but when there are 3, then the third one is half way outside the boarders.

I don't know if this is related to the problems described above, but when I now have a few recent projects this panel gets quite big, and I don't see all the buttons on the left hand side. I cannot see a button for opening a project for instance, and I can just about see a squashed Raw data import button.

It's related.. Strange that java on windows and java on Linux can behave so different.. Technically speaking, we should avoid using NullLayout and stick to the traditional layout managers..

thanks for reporting Smiley

I have the same problem as Anne-Kristin with the recent projects "taking over" the top menu line, and making the Load menu very small. I only find the load raw data button when using full screen and even then there's no room for the text next to it.
I am using windows, have a large screen (23'' ) with resolution 1920x1080.
