A J-Express license is a personal license that you use on any computer running J-Express by you. Our motivation for having a license is that we want to register active use of J-Express, which may be important for future funding. A license is valied for 1 year. All licenses except the site licenses are personal meaning that you are responsible for not letting anyone else use J-Express with that license.
